Dog stolen from car at Lisbon post office

LISBON

A Guilford Lake woman experienced every pet owner’s nightmare last week when her dog was stolen from her car.

According to the Associated Press, Kathy Smith said her 2-year-old bichon/maltese mix, Sugar Bear, was taken from her unlocked vehicle while she was at the Lisbon post office on Wednesday to get some stamps.

When Smith returned, Sugar Bear was gone. Smith reported the theft to police plus the Columbiana County Humane Society.

She is offering a $100 reward for the safe return of her pet, and a man from Youngstown reportedly offered to match that with his own $100.

“The posters my daughter made up says the reward is for an arrest, but I don’t care if he is arrested,” Smith said.

“I just want my baby back.”

She can be reached at 330-222-7048 or 330-260-5034.
