YSU Alumni Lecture Series to present ‘Success in Urban School Districts’

“Success in Urban School Districts” is the topic of a presentation Thursday as part of the Youngstown State University Alumni Lecture Series.

The presentation, which features a panel discussion by local education leaders, is at 6 p.m. in McKay Auditorium in the Beeghly College of Education at YSU. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., also in McKay Auditorium.

Panelists will discuss strategies that are being used to meet challenges facing urban schools and ensuring rich educational opportunities for all children.

Moderator is Lenford C. Sutton, chairman of the YSU Department of Educational Foundations, Research, Technology and Leadership. Panelists are Monica Jones, dean of Youngstown Early College; Karen Green, assistant superintendent of Youngstown City Schools; Michael Notar, superintendent of Warren City Schools; and Randy Dunn, president of Youngstown State University and former state superintendent of education for the state of Illinois.

The cost for the event is $5 for members of the YSU Alumni Society and $7 for nonmembers.
