Museum day in Salem

SALEM — The Salem Historical Society Museum will participate in the Smithsonian magazine’s ninth annual “Museum Day Live!”

In honor of the event, the Salem Museum will have free admission.

Smithsonian’s “Museum Day Live!” 2013 will be observed Saturday, but the Salem Historical Society-Museum will participate from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The local museum will feature the newest addition to the buildings’ campus, the Dale Shaffer Research Library, with expanded industrial and transportation exhibits.
