Wolves Club installs new officers

The Wolves Club of Youngstown met for its organization’s annual installation dinner Sept. 11 at the Hampton Inn.

David DiGiacomo was installed as 2014 president. He is a chemistry teacher at Poland Seminary High School. He has served on the club’s scholarship committee and on the board of trustees of the Wolves Scholarship and Charitable Trust.

Other officers installed are Tom Bleggi, president elect; Michael Baca, treasurer; Dr. Peter Chila, secretary; Gino Rondinelli and Patrick Russo, members of the board of directors; and Michael Brine, scholarship committee.

Dr. Gary Bitonte conducted the ceremony.

The Wolves Club of Youngstown is made up of local Italian-American businessmen and other professionals who serve the community by providing scholarships to local students with funds raised during the year.

This year the club distributed $48,500 for students attending Youngstown State University and Humility of Mary Health Partners Nursing school.

This total includes matching funds from YSU Foundation and Humility of Mary Health Partners Development Foundation.

The club has contributed more than $750,000 in scholarships and academic projects since its inception.
