Akron-based accounting firm Cohen & Company has received the 2013 Cascade Capital Business Growth Award. The award recognizes companies from a seven- county region that have achieved “superior growth” in sales or employment over the past five years.

The company also was selected as the winner of a separate award when it received the NorthCoast99 award, which recognizes the top-99 companies in Northeast Ohio that attract, reward and retain top employees.

Hill, Barth & King, an accounting firm in Boardman, has announced the addition of six employees at various offices across its service regions.

Anthony DeLorenzo and Lindsay Geibel have joined the Pittsburgh office; Joseph Johnson and Lauren Baumann have joined the Erie office, along with Michael Johnson. Michael Walston, son of D. Bruce Walston — a former partner at the firm — has joined the company’s Hermitage office.
