BOARDMAN

Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestwood Drive, will install the Rev. Richard E. Kidd as the new pastor during a service at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, newly elected presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and current bishop of the Northeast Ohio Synod, will preach and lead the service.

A reception will follow.

He received a master of divinity degree in 2008 from the Lutheran Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, and a bachelor of science in communication and broadcasting in 1998 from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. He worked in radio broadcasting in several music genres.

His first call was at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas, for five years.

Pastor Kidd is originally from Shreveport, La., where he met his wife, Shelia.

Catholic men

YOUNGSTOWN

Catholic Men’s Fellowship of the Diocese of Youngstown will have an informational meeting for diocesan parish men representatives from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at the St. Dominic Parish Center, 77 E. Lucius Ave.

The meeting’s theme will be the “new evangelization” and the role of the Catholic Men’s Fellowship.

Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Nicholas Shori, director of the diocesan office of evangelization.

Other speakers will be Catholic Men’s Fellowship directors Mark Izzo and Bryan Maschgan. The final session of the meeting will be a panel of Catholic men witnessing how their lives have been transformed into becoming spiritual leaders.

The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will host Dr. Tobias Winright, director of Manresa Program in Catholic Jesuit Studies at St. Louis University, on Oct. 3 at Antone’s Banquet Centre on Market Street. Men of Faith

COLUMBIANA

Men of Faith will meet at 8 a.m. today at the Dutch House Restaurant, 150 state Route 14 East. The theme is “Standing in the Presence of Greatness” with speaker David Kohout. Music will be presented by Ohio Valley Teen Challenge Choir. Honoree for the day is Joe Greasel. Canned goods collected will go to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Leetonia.

Davidic Army

Davidic Army of God Ministry and the Rev. Marion Masters, director, will present Davidic teaching and Hebrew praise and worship from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Western Reserve Community Church, 8590 Hitchcock Road.

The program will include harps, ancient instruments and a replica of the Ark of the Covenant.
