The last Boardman Park concert of the summer season was offered Aug. 29 at the Maag Outdoor Theatre.

The eight-member band, Guys Without Ties, entertained the audience with a variety of Motown and rock music. Singer Lea Nesbitt started the night off with her rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Other selections included a Motown medley and “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele.

Some in the audience tapped their toes in time with the music, while others ate snacks. Children danced and ran in the grass.

Joann Howley doesn’t attend the concerts in Boardman Park every week, but frequently does.

“I enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful weather,” she said.

She brings a book and a chair.

“I come early. I get a good spot to sit and read a little bit and enjoy the concert,” Howley said.

There’s a wide variety of music offered by the groups that play, she said.

“It’s just all different kinds of music,” Howley said. “They’re just all great. I hate to see it end.”

She said she will definitely be back next summer.

Alexis and Ava Flood said they were having a good time at the concert. They danced to the music, ran around and tried to execute somersaults and cartwheels.

The Boardman Band Parents also provided refreshments for sale at the event.
