The meeting room of the Boardman library was filled with dancers, singers and even a magician for the Be A Shining Star talent show Aug. 13.

Karen Saunders, childrens librarian, said this is her favorite program.

“It’s so thrilling to see how talented the kids are,” said Saunders.

Featured performers were: Madeline Owens of Boardman - magic tricks, Brian Lyons and Katie Simco, both of Canfield - dancing to “Gangam Style,” Frank Quinlan of Boardman - tumbling, Kylie Thomas -piano, Kayla Lopez of Boardman - performing the “Cups” song, Genevieve Quinlan and Kenzie Wigley of Boardman - hula hoop tricks and Katie Lyons - performing the “Cups” song.

Some of the performers shared their secrets.

“I got my magic tricks from Amazon,” said Owens.

“My friend Olivia taught me the cup part and I learned the song,” said Lopez.
