BGMS wins Columbiana Invitational

Boardman Glenwood’s cross country team won the Columbiana Invitational and the boys team took sixth place.

Top performers for the Lady Spartans were Casey Zaitzew (second), Nadine Gabriel (fifth), Isabella Jones (eighth) and Savannah Beule (12th place).

BGMS volleyball sweeps Poland

Boardman Glenwood’s seventh-grade volleyball team improved its season record to 5-1 by beating Poland 25-16 and 25-12. Leading scorers were Kaylin Burkey and Cate Green.

The eighth-grade team also defeated Poland with scores of 24-26, 25-18, and 25-20 to improve their record to 5-1. Leading the team in blocks was Zoe Sims. The leading scorer was Briawna Santiago with 22 points.

BGMS Ddowns Girard

Boardman Glenwood’s seventh-grade volleyball team defeated Girard 25-23 and 25-15 to improve its season record to 6-1. Mara Hierro served a good game with Kailee James playing strong offensively.

The eighth-grade team also improved their record to 6-1 by beating Girard 25-15 and 25-16. Ashley Clark was a floor leader while Sydney Hull played a good game defensively.

Boardman beats Mooney

The Boardman girls varsity soccer team beat Mooney 3-0 at Valley Sports Sept. 14.

Top players for Boardman were Alison Green with two goals, Alexes Cailor with a penalty kick, Nikki Hillard with two assists and Kristen Huck with six saves.
