Fundraiser benefits Elm Street Cafe

Common Wealth Inc., a nonprofit community-development organization, launched a fundraising campaign this week to benefit the Elm Street Cafe, which it plans to locate in the building that houses the Common Wealth Kitchen Incubator.

The incubator is a shared-use commercial kitchen aimed at lowering the costs of starting or expanding a local business. The Elm Street Cafe will feature a coffee and smoothie bar in close proximity to Youngstown State University and Wick Park.

Fund gives grant to JumpStart

The Fund for Our Economic future announced Wednesday it has awarded a grant of up to $500,000 to JumpStart, an economic-development organization.

The 15-month grant will help support minority entrepreneurship and go toward a network of entrepreneurial- assistance organizations. The Youngstown Business Incubator is a part of the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network.
