Unbeaten Western Reserve (3-0) is the highest-ranked Mahoning Valley football team in the season’s first Associated Press Ohio high school football poll.

The Blue Devils are second in Division VII. This is the first season in which the Ohio High School Athletic Association has moved to a seven-division setup for football.

Also ranked in Division VII are Wellsville (3-0, eighth) and Mineral Ridge (3-0, 14th).

Austintown Fitch (3-0) is fifth in Division I. The Falcons are the only Division I team in this week’s poll.

Poland (3-0) and Hubbard (3-0) are seventh and ninth, respectively, in Division III.

Cardinal Mooney (2-1) and Struthers (3-0) are 11th and 19th, respectively, in Division IV.

Crestview (3-0) and Ursuline (2-1) are fifth and ninth in Division V.

Three unbeaten local teams are represented in Division VI. Brookfield (3-0) and South Range (3-0) are tied for 12th. McDonald (2-1) is 14th.

The top-ranked teams in each division in the inaugural poll are:

Division I: Cincinnati Colerain (3-0).

Division II: Massillon Washington (3-0).

Division III: Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (3-0).

Division IV: Clarksville Clinton-Massie (3-0).

Division V: Dayton Chaminade-Julienne (3-0).

Division VI: Kirtland (3-0).

Division VII: Maria Stein Marion Local (3-0).
