Struthers man gets 10 years in abuse case

YOUNGSTOWN — A 55-year-old Struthers man was sentenced to 10 years in prison today by Judge Lou D'Apolito for abusing a relative he was caring for from 2005 to 2010.

James Fetty pleaded guilty to a charge of rape and additional counts of gross sexual imposition, importuning and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

He was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court after an hour-long hearing.

Assistant Prosecutor Natasha Frenchko said Fetty was abusing the girl as he she was staying with him as her father was dying from cancer.
