Man pleads guilty to gun charge in Warren

WARREN

Orlonzo Murry, 27, of Bennett Avenue Northwest, pleaded guilty today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to a gun charge connected with the New Year’s Eve shooting death of Cory Blackwell at the Sunset Lounge on East Market Street.

Murry will be sentenced on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm in liquor-permit premises after the Trumbull County Adult Probation Department conducts a presentence investigation.

Warren police said in April that Murry was not a suspect in the killing but he was a “person of interest” in the case.

An attempt to reach Chris Becker, the assistant Trumbull County prosecutor on the case, was unsuccessful today.
