Campbell police probe complaints of abuse
CAMPBELL — Police are investigating reports of a female high school student allegedly being abused by her mother.
On Monday afternoon, officers spoke with the district's school-resource officer and a special education teacher at Campbell Middle School. The teacher told police that three students in her class said their friend, the high school student allegedly being abused, told them she was tired of being forced by her mother to have sex for drug money.
The school's principal provided police with the same information.
Police contacted Mahoning County Children Services, who will follow up on the reports.
