Man down off of Interstate 80 bridge in Girard

A would-be jumper at the Mosier Road overpass above Interstate 80 was taken down from the bridge by a Girard Fire Department ladder truck about 1:15 p.m. today.

The man, Stephen West, 54, of Girard was standing on the outside of the overpass fence when police began arriving at 12:15 p.m. The interstate was shut down until the crisis was resolved. There were no injuries.
