Autopsy needed to determine how woman died

YOUNGSTOWN — Police say an autopsy is needed to determine how a young woman found on an East Side road about 11 a.m. today died.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik of the Detective Bureau said investigators believe the woman found on Keogh Avenue on the far East Side is a 21-year-old Girard woman, but he added he is waiting for the Mahoning County coroner to make that determination before releasing her name.

Bobovnyik said it appeared the woman was probably dumped there and she had not been dead long. He said detectives could not tell by looking at her how she died, and there were no obvious signs of foul play.
