Fundraiser will help further Yellow Brick

A fashion show fundraiser, “Survivor’s Bloom,” will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., to benefit Yellow Brick Place.

Anna Aey and Donna Detwiler, both cancer survivors, co-founded the nonprofit organization in 2010. The goal is to establish a wellness center for those diagnosed with cancer. All services would be free of charge and nonmedical.

The nonprofit’s board is evaluating whether to build or rent a space.

Canned food and other nonperishable food item will be collected at the door to benefit St. Vincent de Paul dining hall in Youngstown.

Tickets cost $30 per person and include a luncheon and fashions provided by Talbot’s and the Children’s Loft. Tickets can be bought by calling Donna Detwiler at 330-770-0808 or sending an email to info@yellowbrickplace.org.
