“DANCING WITH THE STARS” (8 p.m., ABC): Even before Season 17 starts, we’re celebrating. That’s because they’ve dumped the superfluous and padded results show! Yes, there will only be one weekly airing of “DWTS” (with results included). We can only hope other reality shows follow suit. As for the happy hoofers, they include Valerie Harper, Bill Nye, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and some other “celebrities.”
“Bones” (8 p.m., Fox): As Season 9 of “Bones” begins, someone really needs to nail that dastardly serial killer, Pelant, so Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) can get back to planning their wedding.
“Sleepy Hollow” (9 p.m., Fox): Will you dig the nutty new drama, “Sleepy Hollow”? Depends on whether you’re willing to believe that a headless horseman has time- traveled 250 years into the future and is packing an assault rifle.
