Player fact: The senior quarterback ran for 213 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 71 yards and two more scores in a Week 2 win over West Branch. On the season, Gilbert has 388 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, to go with his 157 yards and four touchdowns through the air. This week he’ll look to add to his total against Liberty.

Quotable: “I like McDade this year, he’s a big target at tight end. It’s nice because it creates a lot of mismatches. A lot of times you’ll have the free safeties walk up and cover him and you don’t have too many 6-foot 3 250 pound DBs out there so it’s nice.”

Player fact: The defensive back was a part of a Springfield defense that held Youngstown Christian to just 143 total yards on five first downs. In the 53-12 victory, Scandy was credited with seven tackles, three for losses, and two sacks. His coach said he expects that from him every week now that he knows he’s capable of it.
