Little Falcons play Wildcats

The Austintown Little Falcons played the Struthers Little Wildcats at Struthers Wildcat Stadium Sept. 1. The Falcons defeated the Wildcats 42-0 in the 100 pound game, while the Wildcats toppled the Falcons 8-6 in the 120 pound match. The 140 pound Falcons came out victorius with a score of 22-6. The Falcons will travel to Canfield to face the Cardinals this Sept. 8. The 100’s will start at noon followed by the 120’s and then the 140’s.

120 Colts defeat Falcons Aug. 25

The Austintown Colts played the Austintown Little Falcons Aug. 25. The 120 pound Colts won 44-0. Featured plsyers included Brian long with two individual sacks, multiple tackles and a touchdown. The team saw tremendous effort from all players. Other key players in the match included Karl Farina, Kyree Long, Shakir Perkins, Bryan Bellish, Donovan Oliver, Colin Roberts.

Fitch wins triangular match

Austintown Fitch boys golf team tied with Newton Falls in a triangular match and defeating Warren Harding 162-162-172.

The final score was then determined by the fifth score, which Fitch prevailed by three strokes, bringing the score to Fitch 162, Newton Falls 165.

Top players for Fitch were Vince Goleno (38), Cameron Gumble (40), Zack Bobonick (41) and Frank Geidner (43).

Fitch defeats Hubbard

On Sept. 5, the Austintown Fitch boys golf team defeated Hubbard 173-181. Top players were Joey Shushok (39), Dom Ignazio (43), Kevin Ziegler (45) and Frank Geidner (46).

Fitch to host HOF weekend

The AFHS athletic Hall of Fame weekend will be Oct. 11 and 12.

On Oct. 11, there will be a pre game Hall of Fame reception outside the Fitness Center starting at 5 p.m. where you can meet this years inductees followed by a social after the game at Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown. The public is welcome.

On Oct. 12, there will be our formal banquet at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Austintown. The reception starts at 5 p.m. and dinner begins at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 (food and all drinks included). Boys golf takes on Struthers

The Austintown Fitch boys golf team defeated Struthers 160-189 on Sept. 3. Top players for Fitch were Joey Shushok (39), Vince Goleno (39), Dom Ignazio (41) and Zack Bobonick (41).

Volleyball defeats Hubbard

The Austintown Fitch girls volleyball team defeated Hubbard 5-1 (23-25, 27-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-10).

Top players for Fitch were Maura Bianco with 26 attacks, 15 kills, three aces and six blocks; Taylor Herman with 20 attacks and 10 kills; Sarah Melfe with 20 attacks, 10 kills and two blocks; Katarina Lewis with 24 assists and Alex Corradi with 26 digs and 47 server reactions.
