Response to violence

Response to violence

girard

When a gunman invaded an elementary school near Atlanta, a staff member deterred his intended violence by talking with him. Can compassion and empathy help keep someone from making a bad decision? What does it mean to “love our neighbor” when they are seem intent on doing bad things?

These and other questions will be the basis for a dinner and discussion on Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Churchill Road.

The potluck supper begins at 5 p.m. and the discussion at 6. Visitors are expected and welcome at both events. For information, call the Rev. Deborah Dockstader at 330-505-1192.
