Hubbard police investigate burglary

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary on Taylor Street.

A 41-year-old woman and her 17-year-old-son were home when the burglar broke in around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

They told police that the woman was in the basement when she heard a noise. She texted her son, who was upstairs in his room.

When he went to investigate, the burglar flung the enclosed-porch door open and knocked him down.

He got up and chased the burglar into the kitchen, where the two struggled.

The burglar got away and fled through back yards.

The case was turned over to detectives.
