Mahoning commissioners address parking gate, sidewalk repair

Youngstown

The Mahoning County commissioners approved this morning spending $3,750 for a new electric parking deck gate and $4,435 for removal and replacement of buckling and cracking sidewalk and curb at Oak Hill Renaissance Place.

The gate will be installed by Youngstown Fence Inc. and the concrete work in the Head Start playground area will be preformed by CML Concrete Construction of Youngstown. Both companies provided the lowest of three quotes for the jobs.

“These are safety issues that we have to continue to fix because, if you have somebody fall on that sidewalk, then, of course, there’s a tentative issue that we could be sued,” said Carol Rimedio-Righetti, chairwoman of the county commissioners.
