YOUNGSTOWN
United States Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) called on ValleyCare’s Northside Medical Center to work towards a “fair and equitable” agreement with its more than 400 registered nurses, and offered his assistance in the process.
Brown’s staff recently met with the Ohio Nurses Association to discuss the quality of care that the hospital provides the Mahoning Valley and the rights of its nurses.
In a letter to Kirk Ray, chief executive officer of Northside and ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, Brown urged Ray and his staff to work toward an work agreement that allows the nurses to continue providing the high quality of care they have performed for so many years.”
Brown said an agreement between the hospital and the union will benefit the workers, their families, hospital management, and the entire Youngstown community.
