The Jimmy Lee Project donates $4,000 to helpline

YOUNGSTOWN — The Jimmy Lee Project, a celebration of the life of James “Jimmy” Lee who committed suicide March 2, 2011, donated $4,000 today to the Help Hotline Crisis Center’s 24-hour suicide prevention and intervention program.

Jimmy Lee’s mother, Pamela Rocco of Stoutsville, Ohio, near Columbus, and his daughter, Genaviene Mayhew, 6 of Struthers, presented the check which represents the proceeds from two fund-raisers, to Duane Piccirilli, Help Hotline chief executive officer.

Rocco said Help Hotline’s suicide program was a “good fit” for the Jimmy Lee Project.

“It is easy to call Help Hotline for help. They are non-judgmental and help family and friends dealing with the suicide of a loved one. The support is amazing,” she said.
