Free health screenings, breast exams and mammograms are available during Joanie’s Promise Night at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center on the campus of St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 18.
Joanie’s Promise Night is free and open to uninsured and underinsured women 40 to 64 who meet financial- eligibility requirements. This event is among several that seek to fulfill Joanie’s Promise to provide breast- care services to every woman who needs them.
Joanie’s Promise Night is funded by a grant from the Humility of Mary Health Partners Foundation. Its largest fundraiser is the Panerathon.

Bullying to be topic
Howland
Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road SE, will host a presentation on bullying open to the public at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Life scout John Sturdevant will lead the presentation, which is aimed at children and teens third grade and above. Parents also are welcome.

High-speed chase
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, PA
A 25-year-old Union City, Pa., woman, who state police say led them on a 24-mile high-speed chase through Mercer County, faces several criminal charges including fleeing or attempting to elude police, possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
A state trooper tried to pull over Ashley M. Dumas on Interstate 79 southbound in Mercer County on Sunday as she drove nearly 85 mph in a 65-mph zone, but she refused to stop. She eventually was caught 24 miles later after crashing her car, police say.
State police said she was in possession of suspected heroin and prescription medication.
