In addition, the District Award of Merit, which is the highest honor a district can bestow upon a volunteer, will be awarded; it is available to those who have given service of an outstanding nature at the district level.
Last year, the Whispering Pines District served families of 751 Cub Scouts in 14 Cub Scout packs, 424 Boy Scouts in 19 Boy Scout troops, and 39 Venturing Scouts in two Venturing crews.
