Boardman, Poland to add to their halls of fame

Two Mahoning County school districts have announced the newest inductees into their respective Halls of Fame as part of the 2013 class.

On Friday, Poland will add seven new members prior to its football game against Boardman. The inductees are: Robert “Stubby” Miller (class of 1953), Bob Hulbert (1972), Dave Smercansky (1975), Becky Jasinski (1989), Dan Scharville (1992), John Jerin III (2000) and Andrew Frum (2001).

On Sept. 29, Boardman will have a celebration when it inducts 11 members into its hall of fame. The inductees are: Steve Gresock (1981), Joe DiPasqui (1992), Jesse Potter (1996), Donald Ross Jr. (1997), Adriane Blewitt Wilson (1998), Jeffrey Conklin (‘98), Matt Diffley (‘98), Meredith Konya (‘98), Jeff Ryan (‘98), Chris Tuminello (‘98) and contributor Ron Moschella.

Boardman also plans on recognizing its 1967 baseball team, which finished runner-up in the state.
