Two-day Johnny Appleseed Fest in Lisbon begins Sept. 21

LISBON

The 46th annual two-day Johnny Appleseed Festival in downtown Lisbon begins Sept. 21.

The traditional parade begins at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 with this year’s theme paying tribute to the Lisbon Lions Club for its community support.

Opening-day events include a 1950s car cruise from noon to 4 p.m., free games for children from 2 to 6 p.m. and a pie-baking contest at 4 p.m. with a celebrity judge. Additionally, Ohio Idol contestants will perform from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

The festival resumes at 11 a.m. Sept. 22 and continues until 8 p.m. There will be a church service, pet parade at 1 p.m., children’s free pedaling-tractor contest and various bands entertaining the crowd all day.

Ongoing activities include a photography contest, student art contest, quilt show, amusement rides and continuous stage entertainment. No entrance fee will be charged.
