1 dead, 2 hurt in Dayton shooting

DAYTON

One person was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in southwest Ohio and police are searching for the gunman.

Investigator Rick May with the coroner’s office in Dayton says the victim is a young man from the city. His name was withheld until family members could be notified.

There was no immediate update on the two hospitalized shooting victims.

The Dayton Daily News says the shooting occurred near a 100-unit apartment complex for low-income residents.

Police were looking for a gunman dressed in blue jeans.

No motive was mentioned.
