OVI checkpoint starts at 10 tonight in Niles

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Niles Police Department, conducting an Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI) checkpoint from 10 p.m. today to 3 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 422 here.
The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is designed to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoint is also conducted in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, according to the OSHP.
