NEW CASTLE | Run/walk to raise funds for victims of domestic violence

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County will sponsor its sixth annual 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run to benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse at 9 a.m. Sept. 28 at Pearson Park in Neshannock Township.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Pre-registration by Sept. 15 will ensure runners and walkers a free T-shirt.
This year’s event will feature a kid’s Fun Run. Registration forms can be obtained at the Crisis Shelter office, 1218 W. State St., or by calling 724-652-9206, ext. 100.
Online registration at tinyurl.com/Fightfor- Zero5k also will be offered for the first time. A fundraising page at the site offers ease in inviting friends to support the runners and walkers participating in the event by email, Facebook and Twitter.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female runners and walkers in 15 categories.
Sponsorship opportunities still are available, and this year, runners and walkers can became sponsors themselves at three different levels by giving a special gift.
The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County empowers and advocates for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes, and inspires and educates citizens to create safer communities and break the cycle of violence.
