Company recalls Motrin for infants
WASHINGTON
Johnson & Johnson is recalling 200,000 bottles of Motrin Infants formula due to the risk that they contain tiny plastic particles.
J&J’s McNeil unit said Friday that the recall affects three lots of its popular Motrin Infants’ Drops Original Berry Flavor, which is used to lower fever and treat aches and pains in children 2 years old and younger. The company warned that the medicine may be contaminated with specs of PTFE, a plastic also used in Teflon coatings. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date, according to the company.

Hitler bodyguard dies at age 96
BERLIN
He was Adolf Hitler’s devoted bodyguard for most of World War II and the last remaining witness to the Nazi leader’s final hours in his Berlin bunker. To the very end, SS Staff Sgt. Rochus Misch was proud of it all.
For years, he accompanied Hitler nearly everywhere he went, sticking by the man he affectionately called “boss” until the dictator and his wife, Eva Braun, killed themselves as defeat at the hands of the Allies drew nearer.
The 96-year-old Misch died Thursday, one of the last of a generation that bears direct responsibility for German brutality during World War II.
Girl recovering
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.
An Arkansas girl who has been recovering from a rare and often-fatal infection caused by a brain-eating amoeba went swimming at a hospital pool Friday.
That marks a milestone for 12-year-old Kali Hardig, who health officials believe got sick because of a trip to a now-shuttered water park.
The amoeba that caused Kali’s infection often is found in warm bodies of freshwater. Called Naegleria fowleri, it typically enters the body through a swimmer’s nose, where it can then travel to the brain and cause a devastating infection.

2 arrested in toddler’s death
WILKES-BARRE, Pa.
Two men were arrested Friday in northeastern Pennsylvania in connection with the death of a New York City toddler shot in his stroller last weekend.
Daquan Breland, 23, and Daquan Wright, 19, waived extradition at a hearing and were being taken back to New York, the Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre reported.
Authorities say 1-year-old Antiq Hennis’ father was pushing him in a stroller in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn on Sunday evening when multiple shots were fired. The child was struck on the left side of his face and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
