Fitch volleyball beats Struthers

The Fitch varsity volleyball team recently defeated Struthers 3-2 in a five match set (25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 25-10, 15-9). Maura Bianco had 27 attacks, 12 kills and 2 blocks, while Sarah Obradovich contributed 43 attacks, 14 kills, 14 assists and 5 aces. Katarina Lewis had 22 assists and Alexa Corrida contributed 22 passes and 22 digs.

The junior varsity team defeated Struthers 2-0 in a two match set (25-12, 28-26).

Boys golf takes on Howland

The Austintown Fitch boys golf team lost to Howland 160-171.

Top players for Fitch were Joey Shushok (42), Dom Ignazio (42), Zack Bobonick (43) and Cameron Gumble (44).

Reward offered

Bruce Shepas and Jim Sobien of Austintown are offering a $200 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever stole more than $400 in merchandise from the Austintown Cults Youth Football concession stand.

Fitch takes third

The Austintown Fitch girls cross country team placed third in the Suburban League meet Aug. 27 at the Austintown Township Park. Top performer for Fitch was Carissa Jenkins placing second overall with a time of 20:42.

Fitch takes on Canfield

The Austintown Fitch boys golf team lost to Canfield 167-174.

Top players for Fitch were Joey Shushok (40), Dom Ignazio (43), Zack Bobonick (45) and Cameron Gumble (46).

Girls soccer topples Howland

Austintown Fitch girls soccer recently defeated Howland 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-16). Maura Bianco had 13 attacks, seven kills and one block and Sarah Obradovich contributed 27 attacks, 14 kills, five assists and three aces. Katarina Lewis had 19 assists and Alex Corrida had 11 digs. The junior varsity team defeated Howland 2-0 (25-9, 25-13).
