7th Annual Patriot Bike Night is tonight in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN

Quaker Steak and Lube Austintown, 5800 Interstate Blvd., will host its 7th Annual Patriot Day Bike Night at 6 p.m. today.

The event pays tribute to men and women in uniform and honors both past and current Armed Forces members.

Among those being honored will be all military, safety forces and veterans from World War II and the Korean, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Mike Case from 21 WFMJ-TV will be master of ceremonies. A skydiver will drop into the event at 7 p.m. to start the ceremony.

There will be military displays such as the Marlboro Volunteers Mobile Museum of U.S. Military History and service vehicles on site, including a 9/11 firetruck.

Cortney Mackay, 11, will perform patriotic songs, and the invocation will be led by Chaplain Dale Baringer of Marine Corps League 494 and a Vietnam Army veteran.

The event was organized by Ken Jakubec, Quaker Steak and Lube Austintown manager and former Marine.

All members in uniform will receive 20 percent off their meals, while those with a military ID will receive 10 percent off.
