Poster exhibition at McDonough museum

YOUNGSTOWN

The McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., will open the 2013-14 season with “Graphic Advocacy: International Posters for the Digital Age 2001-2012.”

The exhibition will open Sept. 12 and run through Nov. 8. Organizing curator Elizabeth Resnick will speak at 5 p.m. on the opening day, and a reception will follow.

The exhibit, organized by Resnick and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, features posters from all over the world that make political statements, aid humanitarian efforts and bring awareness to causes.

Marlena Buczek Smith, who has three posters in the show, will speak at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 30. All events are free. For information, go to mcdonoughmuseum.ysu.edu.
