FNB makes donation to improve Bo Rein Stadium

NILES — Farmers National Bank today announced a donation of $17,500 to be used in the restoration of Bo Rein Memorial Stadium in the city.

For the past 80 years, the stadium has hosted countless athletic events, graduation ceremonies, the Relay for Life fundraiser, state playoff games and community events.

The stadium was built in the 1930s as a project under the Work Progress Administration — one of the largest New Deal programs of its time that put millions of unemployed people to work.

The scope of the restorations will include installation of an artificial playing surface, new visitor locker rooms, restroom renovations and several other structural repairs.

This year, Farmers has donated a total of $264,719 to nonprofit and charitable organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.
