Cleanup planned Saturday on Youngstown's South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — The South Avenue Area Neighborhood Development Initiative, with support from Walmart and the Metro Assembly of God, will undertake a beatification project on South Avenue across from the Interstate 680 southbound exit ramp, running between the opposite entrance ramp and Dickson Avenue.

Volunteers are asked to gather at 8 a.m. Saturday at Dickson and South avenues in order to help initiate an effort that will bring some beauty to an important city gateway.

The project includes general cleanup and landscaping assistance. Some tools will be available, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own rakes or shovels.
