Warren pit bull euthanized after seriously injuring Yorkie

WARREN

A 78-year-old Bon Air Street Northwest woman’s Yorkshire terrier suffered serious injuries to its spine and ribs when it was attacked by a neighbor’s pit-bull terrier Monday morning.

The Yorkshire terrier was taken to a veterinarian for treatment. The pit bull was taken to the Trumbull County

Dog Kennel on Wednesday morning and euthanized, said John Onatz, Warren animal- control officer. No charges have been filed.

Anna Rezabek, daughter of Betty Buzzelli, owner of the Yorkshire terrier, reported the attack to police Monday night. Rezabek said this is the third time the pit bull has attacked Buzzelli or her dog.

A patrolman spoke with a resident who admitted that her son’s pit bull has attacked Buzzelli in the past. She asked that it be removed because of its vicious nature.
