The High Holidays food drive begins today and continues through Sept. 30. The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation sponsors the annual event, which benefits Second Harvest Food Bank.

Items needed: This is a list of items that are especially needed. They are peanut butter, cereal, rice, noodles, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, paper products, instant coffee, pancake mix and syrup, canned fruits and vegetables, baby food and formula, cleaning products, snack foods, diapers and baby items and canned meat, fish and poultry.

Donations: Donations may be dropped off at the Jewish Community Center and Akiva Academy, both 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown; Congregation Rodef Sholom, 1119 Elm St., Youngstown; Congregation Ohev Tzedek, 5245 Glenwood Ave., Boardman; and Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, Liberty Township.

Monetary donations: Make checks payable to Second Harvest Food Bank and mail to JCRC office, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, 44501-1314.
