St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church was the setting of the 4 p.m. June 15 wedding of Lauren C. Gessner and Jake E. Walker.
The Revs. Tom Constantine, Elias Stevens and Dean Gigicos officiated.
A reception followed at The Embassy in Youngstown.
The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Larry J. Gessner of Canfield. She earned a degree in political science from the University of South Alabama and is studying law at the University of Alabama School of Law.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. Walker of Wagarville, Ala. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from USA. He is an electrical engineer for Alabama Power in Birmingham.
The bride wore a white lace V-neck, A-line gown embellished with flowers and white ribbon at the waist. It was completed with a peep-hole back.
The bride’s cousin Zoe Filutowski was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Branden Dickerson and Kylie Gessner, also her cousins; Jordan Spidle; Hannah Yeats; Lauren Fekete; Twila Tschan; and Kayla Brown. Attendants wore coral-colored dresses.
Troy Gessner, the bride’s brother, was best man. Groomsmen were Sebastian Filutowski, Oliver Filutowski and Jason Dickerson, cousins of the bride; Robert Patrick; Lazarus Mukura; Corey Magee; and Jeremy Lee.
Also participating was Conor Gessner, cousin of the bride, and koumbari were Mr. and Mrs. George Catranis, godparents of the groom.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Northport, Ala.
