A man entered guilty pleas Wednesday to charges that he helped lure another man to a South Side home with the promise of sex with a woman, but instead he was beaten and robbed.
Dymond Ortello, 27, of Brooklyn Avenue, entered guilty pleas before Judge John Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, burglary and felonious assault.
Prosecutors are recommending a sentence of 12 years on the four charges plus three years on a firearm specification for a total sentence of 15 years.
Judge Durkin told Ortello that because Ortello took responsibility, he was pondering a sentence of eight to 10 years but also stressed that he has not yet made up his mind what the sentence will be.
Sentencing will be at a later date.
Ortello and Miesha Williams, 24, are accused of luring a man to a West LaClede Avenue home for sex April 13. Instead, he was met by two men holding shotguns who bound him with duct tape, beat him, and robbed him of $300 cash.
Williams, who also faces charges, is set for a Nov. 13 pretrial hearing before Judge Durkin.
