Ohio teen accused in arson, attempted murder

CINCINNATI (AP) — A 14-year-old Ohio boy is facing juvenile charges of attempted murder and arson after authorities say he tried to kill himself and five others by setting a house on fire.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office said today that officials responded to the house fire Wednesday night in Wayne Township, about 30 miles northeast of Cincinnati. They say the foster child from Franklin County who was placed in the home had set it on fire in an attempt to kill everyone inside.

They say a foster parent had to pull the teen from his own burning bed.

The teen was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation and minor injuries. The five adults in the house at the time were not hurt.
