Alternative

Austintown: Bethel Assembly of God Church, 3807 Mahoning Ave., will host a trunk-or-treat from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Games, hot dogs, snacks, coffee, and trunks decorated and full of candy will be offered.

Campbell: Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 279 Whipple Ave., will host a community trunk-or-treat event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

North Jackson: The North Jackson Citizens Association will host a “Halloweenie Fest” from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gazebo on Mahoning Avenue. Free hot dogs and drinks will be provided.

Warren: Harvest Point Church will host a trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lordstown Plaza parking lot at 6100 Tod Ave. The church will offer coffee, cider and doughnuts.

Warren: The Warren Family Mission’s 361 Elm Road location will host a safe alternative to trick-or-treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Games, activities, and candy for children ages through age 12 will be provided. Children are asked to dress in a non-scary costume. A costume contest will be held and the most creative costume will win a prize. The Mission will provide a light meal.

Youngstown area: Participating IHOP restaurants in the Youngstown area will offer trick-or-treaters ages 12 and younger a free “Scary Face” pancake today. The free pancake comes with a whipped topping mouth, glazed strawberry nose, and kids can decorate as they wish with two mini-Oreo cookies and eight pieces of candy corn.

Youngstown: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., will host a community trunk or treat 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the church parking lot.

Youngstown: Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave., family fun night, 5:30 to 8 p.m., Tatum Fellowship Hall. Candy distribution and games planned.
