BREAKING NEWS: Consiglios indicted by grand jury

YOUNGSTOWN — A former Poland school teacher and her husband were indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury today on charges of robbery and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

Frank Consoglio Sr., 45 and Irene Consiglio, 46, each of Mercedes Place in Canfield, were indicted for an Oct. 2 incident where police say Frank Consiglio took a woman's purse from a 66-year-old woman outside the Sandwich Factory in Boardman and Irene Consiglio drove the getaway car.

Police stopped the car on U.S. Route 224, but as the officer left his cruiser, the vehicle, being driven by Irene, fled. The car eventually was pulled over in the parking lot of the Blue Wolf Tavern Banquet Center on Lockwood Boulevard. There, the passenger door opened and Frank ran into the woods, police say.

They are expected to be arraigned before Judge Maureen Sweeney of common pleas court some time next week.
