Youngstown man charged in 2009 Columbiana Co. homicide

LISBON — A Youngstown man accused of murder in the 2009 death of Arthur F. Gilmore of Salem was served a secret indictment on Tuesday.

Christopher J. Adkins, 27, is charged with murder.

Adkins, Gilmore’s stepson, was served in Mahoning County with the indictment and taken into custody Tuesday morning on Linwood Avenue in Youngstown by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

The indictment, which reads he purposely caused the death of Gilmore on Sept. 26, 2009, was issued by the Columbiana County grand jury late last week.
