For an unknown reason, Minteer’s truck went off the right side of the road, traveling along the ditch, hit a culvert, came back on the road and overturned on the passenger side and slid down the road, hitting an automobile, causing the truck to rotate counterclockwise before stopping across both lanes of the highway. He was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer.

When struck by the truck, the car was knocked into a ditch on the south side of the road. The driver, Kenneth D. Millison, 84, suffered minor injuries. His passenger, Shirley C. Millison, 81, was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, state police said.
