Gunman sought in slaying of Cleveland teen

CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in Cleveland are seeking the person who fatally shot a 17-year-old boy during a fight in the street.

The teen, identified by the medical examiner’s office as Allen Demartae, was killed Tuesday night on the city’s east side.

Police Sgt. Sammy Morris said the victim and the suspect were fighting, when the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the teen in the chest.

Demartae was pronounced dead at a hospital. The suspect fled on foot.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact homicide detectives.
