Boardman High band in concert
BOARDMAN
The Boardman High School marching band will present a retrospective of its 2013 season in a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday in the school gymnasium. The band will play all the music from the field shows while the Spartan Sweethearts and Silks perform their visual routines on the gym floor.
The program will include “Blurred Lines,” “Walk Away,” “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody,” “Styx Medley,” “Get Lucky,” “Baba O’Riley” and “Magic!” Admission is $3 ($2 for students, free for senior citizens). For information, go to boardmanband.org.
The audience will also sample cupcakes made by competing teams of band students. The cupcakes that best capture the spirit of the band’s closing routine, “Magic!,” will be determined by a panel of judges as well as concertgoers. Winners will be announced at the concert.
Kraut Fest returns to Haus Cider Mill
Canfield
Haus Cider Mill, 6742 W. Calla Road, will present its 14th annual Kraut Fest on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 ($7 per couple; free for children).
Saturday entertainment will include music by Jack Tady and John Gabriel. Events will include cabbage-chucking and cooking contests, the KCB express, pumpkin rides and the cabbage bowl.
Sunday will include music by Del Sinchak and John Gabriel. Shred-a-head and “cabbage patch kid” contests will be held. For information, call 330-533-5305.
