Poster exhibition artist in free lecture

YOUNGSTOWN

Marlena Buczek Smith will give a free lecture on “Poster Design and Creative Activism” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonough Museum, Wick Avenue, on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Smith is a Polish-born artist whose work includes posters, commercial graphic design and paintings. Her posters have been exhibited globally and can be seen at the McDonough’s current exhibition, “Graphic Advocacy: International Posters for the Digital Age,” which will remain on display until Nov. 8. The show features 120 of the most emphatic and visually compelling messages of our time.
